Executive Advisor · Operator · Complex Problem Solver · Speaker

Turn effort into resultsnot complexity.

Knowing which problem to solve — or solve first — is the problem I help answer. Then I work with you to fix it.

Cross-industry by design. The problems I solve sit beneath sector mechanics, and working across industries gives me a wider pattern library for seeing what insiders can miss.

Ways to work together

Different forms of partnership. One goal: decide what matters most and move it forward.

You do not need to know the engagement model before we talk. Start with the problem, the decision or the outcome that matters. The right form of support can follow.

01

Executive advisory

A candid, experienced thought partner for consequential decisions, growth, transition and moments when a leader needs an outside perspective with operating depth.

Decisions · growth · transition
02

Complex problem solving

Get underneath problems that cross functions, separate symptoms from root causes and focus the organization on the changes most likely to improve performance.

Root causes · redesign · performance
03

Fractional & interim leadership

Senior operating capacity for a defined period when something needs ownership now — from fractional COO or Chief of Staff support to transformation leadership.

Leadership · execution · transition
04

Speaking & facilitation

Keynotes, leadership sessions and executive off-sites that help people see familiar problems differently, create shared language and leave ready to act.

Perspective · alignment · action

How I see the work

The problem is often in the interaction.

Most people look for performance problems in the strategy, structure, technology, individual or team. The real breakdown is often in the interaction between them. I work across those boundaries to find the constraint that is actually limiting performance and determine what needs to be solved first.

See the whole system

Understand how strategy, structure, technology, customer needs, people and capacity are interacting rather than treating each issue in isolation.

Find the real constraint

Separate symptoms from the constraint creating them so time, money and leadership attention are not spent solving the wrong problem.

Fix what matters first

Remove the friction or redesign what needs to change, then stay close enough to the work to help the solution produce results.

The form of engagement follows the problem. Sometimes the answer is a decision or focused redesign; sometimes it requires hands-on leadership or a broader transformation. The value is knowing where to intervene first — and then making the change real.

Selected outcomes

Change you can see—and sustain.

The settings vary. The work travels. Finding and fixing the right constraint first has translated into measurable gains across revenue, capacity, cost and enterprise performance.

$300M+

Additional first-year revenue after redesigning product findability and the end-to-end eCommerce experience.

Global eCommerce
55%

Increase in clinic capacity, with patient wait times reduced to under 15 minutes between steps.

Cancer care
$3.4M

Cost reduction from finding and fixing the right problem first.

About Laurie

A strategist’s lens. An operator’s instinct.

Laurie Clarke is an executive advisor, operator, complex problem solver and transformation leader with more than two decades of experience helping organizations grow, change and solve difficult problems.

Today, Laurie works directly with CEOs, founders, executives and leadership teams on complex operating and growth challenges. Her work ranges from executive advisory and complex problem solving to fractional leadership, customer-experience and operating redesign, enterprise transformation, speaking and facilitation.

Earlier in her career, Laurie was COO and co-owner of The Tatham Group, where she led large-scale transformations across North America, Europe and Asia. Across her career, she has worked with Fortune 500 executives, founders, boards and leadership teams on strategy, customer experience, operating-model redesign, organizational change and complex implementation.

Her work is deliberately cross-industry. The problems she is brought in to solve — how strategy becomes execution, where capacity is being lost, what is constraining growth, and why customer, operating or people issues are reinforcing one another — sit beneath sector mechanics. Working across industries gives her a wider pattern library and enough distance to challenge assumptions that can become invisible from inside the business, while the people closest to the work bring the technical depth.

What clients tend to value is her ability to move between the strategic and the practical: to see connections across customer, operations, people and leadership, find the constraint beneath the symptoms and stay engaged long enough to make the change real.

Laurie holds a Bachelor of Commerce with distinction from the University of Toronto, with a specialist in Commerce & Finance, a major in Human Biology and a minor in Economics.
